Here at Bayleaf Dental Centre we realize and acknowledge that dental emergencies can present themselves at any time and demand immediate attention. Patient care is our foremost concern and, as such, we strive to accommodate any and all emergencies the same day if at all possible.

Whether you have a toothache, swollen face or just lost a filling, we will accommodate all emergencies and provide you with the relief you need. Emergencies are seen on a regular basis. Please call our office immediately at 905-731-4665 if you are in need of emergency dental care and Dr. Halberstadt will assist you.

Dental First Aid:

Toothache: Tooth pain can be quite severe. Avoid chewing on the tooth until your dentist can assess the situation. Rinse with warm salt water periodically. Avoid extreme temperatures.

Broken tooth: Rinse the area with warm salt water and make every effort to keep the area clean. Apply cold compress to the area. Recover all broken pieces and bring to your dentist. Pain medications as necessary.

Knocked Out Permanent Tooth: Recover the tooth making sure to handle it by the top portion and not the root. Rinse gently (do not clean or scrub). If possible, reinsert the tooth into the socket and hold in place using a clean towel or gauze. If the tooth cannot be reinserted, then place it in milk or water. Timing is essential, so see a dentist immediately.
